You'll love Ireland

If you've never been to Europe, Ireland is the place to start. Beautiful country, with friendly people. Steep in tradition, with a love of God and Country.

Very Good Trip

We saw a lot of interesting places and our tour director was great. I would like to have visited an art museum to see some Irish artists' work.

It was an O.K. trip

First off we have decided to only take trips that leave from Detroit and return to Detroit non-stop flights. The layover in Newark is to long and very tiring. We enjoyed most of the trip but when we went to the Aran Islands we got to see the clifftop fort but then were loaded up and taken back to the town for shopping, their must have been something more to see!!!! when we got back to town we had 2 1/2 hours to kill and most of us ended up in a restaurant. Loved the Castles, The Rock of Cashel, Glendalough, enjoyed the Banquet at Dunguaire Castle, and the country side and people were wonderful. All and All we enjoyed the trip but are last trip was to Egypt and we enjoyed that much more.

Some changes needed

We enjoyed the guide Alibe very much. The hotels at the Maldron Dublin was a bit low class but we managed. However, the Maldron at the end was nothing short of a disgrace. I would not go on this tour again if the Maldrons were the choices. Every hotel in between was fine. I did miss not getting to the Dingle and would have loved to have seen Muckross, but do understand you can't see it all. Also, would have two nights in Cork, perhaps cut Dublin down to two nights. All in all we had a nice time and would recommend this tour if the Maldrons were not involved...Our guide was more of a college professor with the knowledge that he has. Very interesting man.

Ireland in Oct. 2011

Our tour guide made the tour great. He didn't panic. He gave us helpful information. He did not lie about the weather so we were able to plan against possible 60 degrees. He related his growing up in Ireland.

Enchanting Ireland 9/25/11 to 10/5/11

We had a mix of very good weather and some drizzle with moderate to warm temps for this time of year. The tour guide was very good and explained many historical, cultural and political elements. The hotels were OK but were not totally climate controlled so I would not rate them three star. The rooms ran hot so opening windows to street noise was the only option for cooling. The included meals were adequate but breakfasts were limited with repetitive menu content. Tour guide did not participate at some of the included dinners, where the guide was present in three previous GoAhead tours I have taken.

Enchanting Ireland

Enchanting Ireland included the very best of sights and a superior combination of culture, history, great food, local sights, traditional music and fun to suit any age or gender. Our group included ages mid-20s to 70-plus and everyone seemed to have a fabulous time. I would recommend this trip for just about anyone.

An okay trip

We both enjoyed the tour and Albee was very insightful and knowledgeable. However, I would not stay at a Maldron Hotel again, especially the last night, it was a huge disappointment and very well could have ruined the trip for 1st time travellers. I would also do only two nights in Dublin, enough, and add a night in either Killarny or Galway. The banquet night is a good idea, but beginning at 8:45p is a bit much for most people our age. (64-70). Also, it was an oversight of the company to not let anyone know that they do not take $100.00 bills in Ireland. It was again, a bit of a problem. We do have two more trips to plan, Italy and Quebec. I have been to both and will check out the hotels carefully if we look at a Go Ahead Tour. All in all it was a nice trip, but, it would have been much better with a better class of Hotel. I believe the money we paid should have paid for the beginning and end accommodations to be a step up.....In spite of these problems we had a nice time. I do not expect you to print this review, but I would like someone in the agency to take a look at this review. Thank you
