Enchanting Ireland was incredible!

This was my first trip to Ireland and with Goahead Tours- I truely enjoyed the group we were with! There was a mix of people from many places in the USA and we were all in love with our Tour Director Allie! She gave us insight into the history of Ireland and the tall tales as well as Mick our driver who led us through this beautiful country. The food was great and I highly recommend the trip to the Wicklow Mountains. The cities were fun, clean and safe. The Irish people were fun and friendly and staff that worked at the hotels were there to make our trip a success! I will never forget all the beautiful sights - this trip gives you a great overview of a magical island. Enjoy!

Ireland is Beautiful and Enchanting

. My trip to Enchanting Ireland this past summer was fantastic. This was my second tour with Go Ahead tours and I had a great time. Here is why: TOUR: The tour was so well organized with a fantastic itinerary. It was well planned, at a decent pace, and with a few special surprises. Our tour guide Allie was marvelous she truly was a professional who could easily manage the needs of the varied members of our group. For instance, I mentioned that while in Dublin I wanted to go to the theatre. The next morning she provided me with a print out of all the theatre that was currently appearing in town. Also, this particular group of 33 were so nice. Every member of the group was so respectful towards each other; it was a pleasure to travel with them. IRELAND: Ireland is gorgeous. Personally I have no familial connection to Ireland what so ever, many of those on the tour did. I simply wanted to see Ireland for its beauty. Although Ireland has weather system that is so unique that makes packing for this journey a challenge, it is simply magnificent. We saw parks, gardens, manicured nature and natural nature that was not to be believed. Ireland is truly stunning and the climate enhances its beauty. FOOD: I am a foodie for sure and eating is a big part of my vacation. On this trip most of the meals are on your own. The three dinners that were included were served in the hotels and were not great other than the included wine and getting a chance to dine with your fellow travelers. However, there is a great food scene in Ireland which consists of the Irish pubs, but also great regular restaurants particularly in Dublin. The cost of food and wine is reasonable and will not break your bank if eating is your thing. Be prepared to have dinner early as dinner shuts down by 9:00pm in most cases, and even earlier in some areas. HOTELS: We stayed in 5 hotels on this tour and they were all nice. In two of them I actually had a great view from my window. My only concern with Go Ahead Hotels is that the Hotels in Major cities are not always so well located. However, on this tour Dublin is such a compact and walkable city that you could very easily walk wherever you want to go quickly. The block that the hotel was located on in Parnell Square did not feel like it was the greatest neighborhood. The Hotel in Killarney was not in the main town, but at that point in the tour I was happy to be on the country-side, it felt right. Galway is a great little city. There the hotel was in a fantastic location just few steps from everything. You could walk back and forth as many times as needed.

50 Shades of Green

We enjoyed the variety of offerings on this trip. Having a lot of free time in Dublin let us explore the city at our own pace --of course there was so much more to see than we had time to take in. I would recommend that Go Ahead make the Literary Pub Crawl one of their optional activities. We enjoyed that immensely. All of the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Our tour guide, Allie, was knowledgeable and helpful, offering a lot of historical and backround information [and 'laminates'] to help bring perspective to each of the places we visited. Our driver, Mick, was very capable, and both struck the right balance of professionalism and friendliness. Overall, we think the tour gave us a feel for the broad range of Ireland, from the cities to the rural areas, and the historic to the current.

Enchanting Ireland July 2012

This was my third Go Ahead Tour, and again I was not disappointed. This particular tour was just right at 11 days for us to see all the highlights. Dublin was great fun and worth staying there three days. The sights in the rest of the country were wonderful. We caught some sun the day we did the Ring of Kerry, and it was awesome. Our tour guide, Allie, was very knowledgable and funny too. I learned a lot about the history, which gave me a great appreciation for the Irish people. The people were very friendly everywhere we went.

Enchanting Ireland-The name says it all!

This tour truly is enchanting! My husband and I chose Go Ahead Tours and this tour for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. Our tour guide Allie, who was a Dubliner was very insightful and knowledgable. We learned so much from her and she really submerged us into the Irish culture and lifestyle which was a fantastic experience! We have already recommended this tour and company to our friends and definitely plan on using Go Ahead in the future.

BEST TOUR DIRECTOR "ALI"

Excellent trip and accomodations except for the hotel in Cork. It was so difficult for the bus driver to even get to the hotel and my room was awful. Had to call down to the desk 4 times for things wrong with the room. Burnt out bulb in the bathroom, TV not plugged into some awful lcable box on the floor, toilet not flushing properly.

Everything I Thought It Would Be

I enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone interested in Irish history and particularly those of Irish ancestry. Ireland is spiritul and mystical. The landscape is beautiful and the people are welcoming. The food is hearty and good. Guinness and Oak Smoked Salmon is a must and don't forget to have some Shepard's Pie and Corned Beef and Cabbage. A full Irish breakfast must be experienced! And that's not ham, it's rashers. Traditional Irish music can be heard at most pubs. Dublin is a unique city. It's very old but also new. Spend some time in Temple Bar and take a stroll across Ha' Penny Bridge. Cork and Galway are most interesting. Every county has someting different to offer. If you're interested in the arts, then Ireland is your place to visit! Our tour was well organized and our tour director was extremely knowledgeable and well versed in Irish history. Our driver was a safe driver and concerned with the welfare of his passengers. Our motels were comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. WELL DONE Go Ahead Tours!

Ireland Green

Ireland is the most GREEN I've ever seen. The beauty was amazing! We didn't have rain everyday, we had alot of Beautiful Days! Emma Downey, our tour director, was WONDERFUL!! She made our trip the best ever. My only regret was that we weren't there longer so we could see more. Everyone should see Ireland. All our fellow travelers were great and we enjoyed them. Hope to meet up with them on another trip in the future.
