A Different Vacation
Though we travel often, we had never been south of the equator, in South America, with a tour group, or even overnight on a boat. So, in concept, this was a new experience for us. Seeing an area as unique and pristine as the Galapagos Islands made this even more meaningful and memorable. I was especially pleased with Quito, and glad that we spent our free time returning to the old city to explore further. The tour guide on the mainland and the naturalist on the cruise were both outstanding. I might have liked more educational components (there was perhaps an overemphasis on bus excursions and photo taking) -- but I did appreciate that this was a chance to be on the water and the land to see a remarkably preserved natural habitat.
Ecuador and Galapagos Islands
It took a several years to convince my husband that the Galapagos Islands would be a phenomenal destination, and how he is convinced! The islands with their unique geology, floral and fauna set them apart from all other exotic places we have visited.
Terrific Experience
Fascinatinhg wildlife and scenery. Out of this world experience.
wonderful trip
The trip was everthing I expected and more. Ecuador and the Galapagos were spectacular. Juan Carlos was one of the best tour directors I have ever had. The ship was great and so was the food and the nature guides. Peru was wonderful as well, Manchu Picchu was undiscribable and was one of the highlights of the trip. I would of rather gone to Lake Titicaca instead of the Sacred Valley. I did not especially like the city tour directors but Nethers was great!! The Hotel in Lima was very unorganized and the food was bad. In would not want to stay there again.
This was definitely a five star tour
This tour was a once in a lifetime experience, not to be missed. There was opportunity for lots of pictures. I would go again. Our time was pretty structured and our guide was outstanding. This was my first tour and the other members said he was the best they ever had. DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY
Two more items checked off our "Bucket List"
Our tour directors were outstanding. Both cared deeply about their respective countries and cultures. Wildlife in the Galapagos was everything we expected and more. You have to see Machu Picchu in person. Accomodations were top rate. We especially enjoyed the buffet meals. Transportation was excellent with experienced professional bus drivers. Our group really enjoyed meeting the others in our Go Ahead Tour. One of the best tours we have taken. We are looking for to our next group trip to Africa.
best tour guide ever
Juan Carlos was the absolute best guide. Go Ahead should be proud to have him as an employee,
Best Trip Ever
My husband and I just returned from a trip to Ecuador, Galapagos Island and Peru. I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in South America. The wildlife on the Galapagos is fantastic! Machu Picchu is spectacular. We enjoyed seeing the countryside as well as the city. The bus tour includes markets and the important sites to see. Snorkling on the Galapagos was quite an experience. The water was chilly, but with a wet suit it was fine for the end of May. We did not have one day of bad weather. I would recommend the end of May for this trip.
Great trip
I thougth the tour was good and the tour guide was great. I loved the country and the scenery. Galapogos was incredible. I want to return with my grandchildren.
Ecuador and the Galapagos
Was a very good tour . We enjoyed our Tour Director - Juan Carlos Rivera P. He had a very good knowledge and respect for his country. Quito was an amazing city. The city tour and the tours into the countryside were very interesting. Such a beautiful country!!! The Galapagos cruise was excellent - only wish it could have been longer.
