best trip ever
This is our 5th European tour and it was the best ever. Jurgen was a great guide and the accommodations, tours and food were excellent.
A PERFECT 13 DAYS
JEWELS OF ALPINE EUROPE WAS FIRST CROWNED WITH A GEM OF A GUIDE IN JEURGEN. THE TRIP HAD A NICE BALANCE OF INCLUDED TOURS AND FREE TIME. ONE COULD BE AS ACTIVE AS YOU WANTED TO BE. IT WAS GREAT SUPPERS WERE INCLUDUED THE FIRST NIGHT OF EACH NEW CITY AND THE HOTELS WERE VERY GOOD. IT WAS A PERFECT TRIP. THE HEAD SETS FOR TOURS IN THE CROWDED PLACES WERE EXCELLENT. IT WILL BE A HAPPY MEMORY FOR YEARS TO COME.

What a great Tour!! The places we visited were absolutely wonderful!! Our Tour Director, Jurgen, was absolutely the best. He was very knowledgeable about all the history of the places we visited which made it much more interesting. He also added some things such as a train ride through the mountains which were not on itinerary. I felt that the price of the tour package and promotional details made it an exceptional deal for the money!! I hope everyone will sign up soon and not miss their chance to go!!!!!! Sharon M.

Every location was spectacular from ascending up to Mount Pilatus to riding the Bernini train. Our tour guide, Jurgen Kursawe was excellent paying attention to every detail and providing much information about the history and facts by location. We had a great time, wonderful accommodations, food, and entertainment. It was our best trip to Europe. Many thanks.
Great Scenery Alpine Tour
This was an overall good tour with a few glitches. Paul Vladu is a well qualified, personable, and considerate tour director. Hotels were well located in towns. I do not think the choice of Lecco was convenient to access to Lake Como, or the town of Como, or to Carlotta. We did not sign up for any optionals, and it became obvious that if we went on the included Carlotta trip, we would have to be dumped in Como till late evening because the driver refused to bring only 2 out of 12 back to Lecco. This should have been foreseen and worked out. We decided to forego Carlotta so we would at least have access to the hotel in Lecco during this empty day. The driver refused to unlock the bathroom at all. While it never became an issue with me, part of the bus tour appeal is bathroom availability. When tire chains were needed, the driver first claimed he had none, then found chains which did not fit. This caused a 4 hour delay. Paul should have seen this coming and ordered a second bus long before he did. Munich tour was very rushed. The market was pointed out, no time to visit. We had to choose between seeing he Glockenspiel perform at 5PM and staying at the Hofbrauhaus, where we had just arrived. The hotel was not walking distance from the old town, and we finally persuaded Paul to hold the bus till 7 PM, since the driver wanted to go back sooner. Not a totally smooth tour.

The trip was very good. However our tour director was the poorest one we ever had on a Go Ahead Tour.

My husband and I had a good time.....but I felt we could have learned so much more if we could have had a local in each city we visited.
A Haven of Beauty
Jewels of Alpine Europe lives up to its title in that you will be exposed to breathtaking views. There will be something for everyone - there are lovely small town and minor cities. The tour guide was one of the most responsive ,well informed and eager to please. I particularly enjoyed the final stops: Innsbruck, Austria and Munich, Germany. I am someone who enjoys cities and culture more than nature, but I actually chose these destinations because I didn't want to encounter any turmoil on my trip , and these seemed safe locations-as they proved to be.

This is our first tour with Go Ahead....but it will not be the last...first class all the way from hotels, guide, bus, etc...we really had a great time ...some of the the people we met on the trip and been on three or four Go Ahead tours...that says something about the company...one lady was on her sixth trip.....David and Sharon....Arroyo Grande Ca.
