First Family Trip

This was a wonderful trip for a family. The boat rides, the animals, the sailing, the zip lining were all extreme. There was something for everyone, even a great grandmother who wasn't as spry as the children. The guides on the raft ride seemed to be having as much fun as the travelers. And how do they see the almost invisible fauna? The hotels were fantastic. The second one seemed to be in the center of the rainforest with flowers and animals right outside the doors. Four days at the Flamingo Resort on the ocean came at just the right time for relaxing. I can't say enough about our wonderful tour guide, Jeff. He went out of his way to try to please everyone. He got a new bus because there was grumbling about the odor. (I didn't notice.) He produced a birthday cake for my son. He did nothing but praise our group when some gave him problems. His education, knowledge and question answering were A+.

Trip was well paced. We had free time but stayed busy. Lot of things to do. Amazing country. Lodges were good. Trip I would take again

Outdoor Adventure

This trip gave us a different flavor from the other trips we have taken with Go Ahead. The hikes were exciting and the focus was on the outdoors. We never had to wait in long lines to reach our destination. You really felt in touch with nature and all it has to offer! The trip started out with lots of hikes and rafting and ended at a great resort to relax and wind down from all the exercise. You could chose and pick what you wanted to do or just relax around the swim up pool or check out the beautiful sunsets.

Many thanks, again for a satisfying Go Ahead experience. We plan to do another Go Ahead tour within a year, to Italy.

Fantastic Back to Nature Trip!

This was my first "nature" vacation. I enjoyed every day of this trip. I loved the outdoors, the natural beauty of Costa Rica, and seeing animals in their own natural habitat. Everything we did, tree top walk in the Rain Forest, hiking up to the volcano, the pineapple and coffee plantation tours, river and rafting cruise down the river in the middle of the rainforest, etc..were all fantastic. The natives of Costa Rica are very friendly, helpful and entertaining. Our tour guides at both the coffee and pineapple plantation were fantastic!! The treetop walk was exhilarating. For almost 2 miles we became part of the rain forest with a clear and safe path with 6 or 7 hanging tree top bridges. We were up close and not too personal with 2 vipers, owls, birds, and monkeys. The rain forest was chirping, buzzing and howling with noises from bugs, birds and monkeys. We saw many monkeys, alligators (adult and baby), birds, lizards, turtles and bats while invading their territory cruising down the river. The captain of the boat stopped for each animal and let us look at it and take pictures while he educated us about the specific animal. Once the monkeys felt comfortable with our presence, they continued their "monkeying around" and eating leaves. There were baby monkeys in the group. I didn't go on the rafting trip rated a # 3/4, but many of our group did. They were excited and said the trip was excellent and fun and just what they needed on the warm days. The #1 rafting trip I took, we all took, was very pleasant. Again we saw alligators, birds, monkeys, lizards, iguanas, etc. This was a very relaxing and pleasant trip. Our lodge experience in the rain forest was amazing. Even without air conditioning, I would not have wanted to miss the experience of sleeping in the middle of the rainforest going to sleep with the howls of the monkeys and the sounds of the other critter life in the rainforest. We slept comfortably inside the lodge with only screens on the windows and doors. There were wooden doors as well, but we opted out on them. We wanted the full experience of the outdoors without actually being outside! So far, we got to know each and every person on all of our Go Ahead tours by name. We are still in contact with many of them and we actually planned this Costa Rica tour with a couple we met 2 years ago in Austria, Switzerland, Germany with Go Ahead. So not only did we get to see them again, but we made more friends as well. I am currently making a photo book from one of the many web sites on the internet to retell and relive my experience in Costa Rica. This will be a coffee table photo book for all to enjoy and look through. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone! This is a vacation I will never forget. It has made my desire to go to other countries such as the Galapagos Island to experience more nature with Go Ahead Tours. Once again Go Ahead, thank you for a beautiful vacation that I will be talking about for years to come!

Great trip in Nature's backyard

This trip was a great excursion into the lush rain forest of Costa Rica. Our group of 35 diverse travelers with our fantastic tour director Rafael and bus driver Juan Carlos made for a wonderful vacation. My highlight was the treetop hanging bridges tour into the rain forest, where we had an unique encounter with a monkey, saw vipers, owls, and all what nature had to offer. The pace of the trip was excellent with the front end more physically challenging and the back end more relaxing. I would highly recommend this trip to all.

Enchanting Costa Rica

We just returned from a 10 day tour of Costa Rica. Our 11 and 10 y/o grandchildren came with us. Costa Rica is very keen on Echo Tourism and the concept applies everywhere you go. We enjoyed hiking to go visit Volcanos. The views were magnificent and we encountered interesting animals like monkeys, iguanas, a viper snake, bats, lizards, alligators,and beautiful birds. Our visits to a pineapple plantation, a coffee plantation, an organic farm were instructive. The rain forest was enchanting as we swayed on the hanging bridges. We ended our trip with a stay at a resort on the Pacific Ocean, it was lovely. To top it off, we went on the zip lines and it sure raised our pulse and blood pressure. We loved it !! Thank you GoAhead, well done and thank you to our Tour Director who was GREAT! Jacqueline.

Trip of a Lifetime

I LOVED this trip! If you are an adventurous person and like nature/wildlife, this trip is for you! :) Must do activities: Treetops Walk, Sailing & Snorkeling, rafting and ziplining ... all the hikes are awesome!

Fabulous Costa Rica

This trip to Costa Rica was amazing. The trip was great from begining to end! The tour guide (Edgar) was so knowledgable, he kept us well informed, no matter haw many questions we asked. Edgar was also a botanist, he was very well educated about all the amazing plant species in Cosat Rica. The rain forest was so beautiful, we saw so much wildlife. The monkyes were my favorite, even when they began to howl. Lets not forget all the beautiful bird species we saw. I really enjoyed the hanging bridges hike, it was beautiful. The hot spring, fantastic, the river raft..great! Make sure you make room in your schedule to go zip lining! My favorite part of the tour would have to be the snorkeling. The crew was fantastic! One crew member would dive down deep and bring up sea life. We got to hold an octopus, bow fish, starish...and much more. I cannot forget to mention how kind the Costa Rican people are. everyone was so friendly and helpful. All in all, it was a great trip, the days went by so fast, it was over too soon. I would highly recommend this tour, I am looking forward to going back to Costa Rica!
