Excellent tour, superb tour director

This tour was absolutely excellent. Our tour director, Matt, was funny, informative, and willing to do whatever he could to make the trip enjoyable for everyone. I was especially surprised by how easily he connected with both the older people on the tour as well as the younger people. Matt made this the vacation of a lifetime for me and my sons. Although this was my first tour with Go-Ahead, I have twice travelled with the student side of the company, EF. I am very pleased with the company overall as they put the customer first. I would highly recommend this tour. I would warn however, this part of Europe tends to be cooler and ranier than other European destinations so go prepared with warm clothing and an umbrella. The scenery, hotels, food, and shopping opportunities on this tour are fabulous.

Loved every minute.

Our tour director, Jim was super. He was friendly and professional and very knowledgeable about all areas. He provided lots of extra information and stops that were not in the intinerary. He gave us lots of ideas for our free time and places to dine. My only complaint is that some of the hotels, while very nice were too far from town center and required a taxi to get there.

First Trip Overseas

This was my first trip across the pond. I enjoyed the rural villages and landscapes. How beautiful is Ireland and Wales. Scotland had some awesone, austere views of the Highlands. Our tour director, Jim, had good information for us and added some additional stops unexpectedly which we all enjoyed. I think he did a good job. Since this was not only my first trip overseas but also my first trip on an organized tour I have no comparison except to touring US, some Canada and some Mexico on our own. In that respect I found having the insight and information given us was really helpful

Surprising Trip

I like to travel at this time of year because the crowds are reduced in popular sites. I didn't expect the weather would be as good as it was - think we got lucky! Our tour guide was excellent and gave us extra information about places to visit in our free time as well as providing superb commentary on the places we visited together. The tour size of 13 was nice, but some of the optional tours weren't available because so few could sign up. Especially disappointing was the cancellation of the trip to St. Andrews. There wasn't enough time to schedule that on our own without missing the tour in Edinburgh. The pace of the tour was easy. It was good that we often spent 2 days at the same location. I enjoyed both of our coach drivers. They were entertaining and skilled at driving in all the narrow roads and cramped passages. I would hesitate to try some of them in a car!

Ireland and Britain WOW!

My sister and I had a wonderful time. I can't say enough about it. This is a trip I have wanted to experience for many years and at last it is a reality. Our tour director was soooo nice and very informative about the countries and the culture of the people in each place we visited. I don't know what I liked most, the churches and museums, Bronte Parsonage or the unbelievably beautiful countryside. I loved all of it and would recommend this tour to everyone. "Just GO!" My sister and I can't wait for our next adventure. Thanks for a great tour.

Most amazing trip so far

We could not have had a better tour director, David was amazing. He really cared that we got what we paid for. Hotels chosen were of the upmost quality and the people were so friendly. Greg and Ken were our coach drivers and made this amazing adventure even more so. I would have to say my most favorite was Chester and Kilkenny. My favorite stop was the Bronte Parsonage Museum. Although I did not get to kiss the Blaney Stone, I did kiss the picture we took. If ask what the sadest (if any) part of our trip was it would be the Cobb Queenstown story. The death of so many and the trials and tribulations were beyond belief. A very strong people with a will to continue is felt still today. What a wonderful history lesson this trip was. It also reminded us that we are so very blessed thanks to alot of people who gave their lives. This was an absolutely wonderful trip. Thanks go to "GO AHEAD", David Reid, Greg and Kenney.

Could not have been better

As first time group tourers, we were apprehensive about bus travel with a group for 2 weeks. The group, the tour director and the bus could not have been better. The rural landscapes were exactly what we expected---breathtaking. Though the sites allowed for great walking, it also made for great viewing from a bench. The Scotish Highlands are a must see, especially if you get a sunny day. We are looking forward to booking our second tour.

Lanscapes of Ireland & Britain

This tour was exactly what it claimed to be. We were very pleased and enjoyed all the beautiful views, points of interest, and activities. Our tour director was very knowledgeable. He gave us lots of background on things we were seeing. It was nice having some choices and freedom to do our own thing some days. Great trip!

Landscape tours of England and Ireland

The tour was great, the weather not good at all. It rained everyday in Ireland. When we went to the Ring of Kerry - could not see a thing! I wish I had studied the itinerary closer, because the extra tours I picked were also all day bus trips, as well as everyday on the bus for the regular tour. For me, it was too much bus time, but that was also my fault for not looking closer into it. Go Ahead lost my husband's suitcase, which has been a big inconvenience. This situation has not been resolved yet, and I lost priceless pictures in the suitcase, as well as his loss of everything in the suitcase. We have spent considerable time replacing some of the items, and it was unpleasant having to do without things like toiletries, all clothes..

Rural United Kingdom trip!

This was a wonderful trip; we got to see classic parts of most of the United Kingdom. There is a lot of time spent on the coach; and our tour director was knowledgeable of the history of the area, so managed to keep us informed. The itineary covered a lot of places and the optional trips were tremendous! There was a historical and literary focus on this tour and many opportunities for shopping. Opportunities for Improvement: 1. More interaction with locals. (How about a dinner with a rural family? Like the one offered in New Zealand?) 2. I was somewhat disappointed with the unavailability of free WIFI in the rooms of several of the hotels. 3. Need more photo stops....I took too many pics though the coach windows.
