England Scotland and Ireland

Just got back from out trip and had a great time even though the weather was challenging at times, The highlights of the trip were Windsor and Blarney Castle just amazing. Mansel our tour guide was just the right person full of information and interesting tidbits which enhanced the bus rides. It was nice to take the train and the ferry and not be on the bus the whole trip.

Not sure I could recommend

Our trip to England, Scotland, and Ireland was our fourth trip with Go Ahead tours, but it may be our last, unfortunately. Overall, the itinerary was good, the hotels were good, and the included meals were fine. Our Tour Guide was okay, but not nearly as good as our guides on previous tours. The primary reason I may not recommend Go Ahead was the number of people on our tour--46--entirely too many. It made the stops that our coach made take way longer than necessary and thus cut down on our down-time. In addition, the flight arrangements, particularly upon return, were not acceptable. After this many trips with Go Ahead, savings of $125 for our next trip is not enough incentive--it's almost embarrassing.

Very Nice Tour

My husband and I enjoyed the tour to England, Scotland, and Ireland in May 2012. In spite of not so great weather, we still got to see some wonderful sites (castles, sheep herding demo, changing of the guard, Blarney Castle and lots of beautiful lakes, cliffs and pubs) in these countries, including a short visit to Wales. The only negative aspect of this trip was the large number of travellers on this bus tour. It made getting on and off the bus for rest stops, collecting suitcases, checking in, etc., very slow.

Great Trip

This was an excellent trip for me. I have always wanted to experience London, Scotland and Ireland and this was a wonderful way to get a taste of all of them. Now I know where I would like to revisit (Ireland) but I enjoyed all places. The only flaw for the whole trip was the lack of hot water in the morning at two hotels. Gavin was a great host. He managed our large group (47) with ease. He was knowledgeable about all areas and gave us great tips on where and how to accomplish our travel goals. As well, he is disarmingly charming, which stopped many of the unfounded complaints. Great trip, great host. Thank you.

Memorable Trip

Great trip! I thought going to Scotland for such a short time was too much travel. Our travel director did a very good job considering our large group. He was accommodating and kind. I enjoyed the scheduled breakfasts and dinners. The only problem was being dropped off in the middle of the city after city tours. It would have been OK if we had been told we would not be going back to the hotel. I would have made better preparation for the day. Over all the trip was great!

Fantastic Tour - Fantastic Time

This was my first tour and I came home and started looking for my next one. I had an incredible time and met the nicest people who I hope to remain friends with for years. It took me years to save up for this wonderful vacation and it was worth every penny. In fact it was an excellent value, the food and hotels were much better than I had anticipated and I was pleasantly surprised. Even the couch drivers were great, highly experienced and professional but very knowledgeable and information. Great Great Experience

The Best of England, Ireland, and Scotland

A wonderful, yet quick, trip through London, Edinburgh, Wales, Dublin, the Ring of Kerry, and the Cliffs of Mohar. This was an beautiful trip with an excellent tour director and outstanding local guides. The hotels were clean and for the most part well situated, and the trip was everything I imagined. I will definitely used Go Ahead Tours in the future.

best of england, scotland, ireland

Tour guide Gavin Delaney made and excellent tour a fabulous tour. The only problems were the long train ride to Scotland and the poor accomodations at the Holiday Inn Express in Edinburgh. Would recommend possible train upgrade to 1st class. I would highly recommend this tour

Great time

We really enjoyed this trip to England, Scotland and Ireland. Against odds of bad weather, which usually occurs , we had beautiful weather. Our tour director, Judy, was very helpful in everything we did. She went at a slow pace when walking us to places. That really helped because we were senior citizens. The local guides gave us a lot of extra information on the various sights and history of the areas. We were a small group so that enabled us to do more things and not have to wait in long lines for entrances into the sights. One memorable event was when our group went to Blaney Castle and they climbed the steps to kiss the Blaney Stone. They all made it to the top and kissed the stone. Some did end up with "the gift of gab." I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves to ride and see the countryside. The "Ring of Kerry" wa s beautiful .
