Best of England, scotland, ireland

The tour was very enjoyable, overall. Our guide, David, was very professional and knowledgeable. His low key sense of humor was enjoyable as well. Would have liked another day in both London and Edinburgh. The traditional Irish Evening optional excursion was well worth the money. The hotels in London, Killarney and Wales were very nice. The hotel room in Edinburgh was cramped and the hotel was out of the way. hotel staff in Dublin were unhelpful and uninformed.

The pacing was wonderful Enough space was giving all way through to discover different cultures on our own was quite important I do thank Go Ahead for providing a well experienced trip leader like Tim was an added value to the trip except the local guides were not up to same standard love to share similar experience with Go Ahead for other countries

The Dad and Lad Tour 2012

My son and I had a great time on this trip. We don't normally do the "tour" thing, but this worked out really well for us. We had plenty of time to do things on our own and still enjoy the group activities. Our tour guide made this trip most enjoyable and entertaining, as did the people we met on the tour. Just a word of warning, know what you are signing up for. There is a lot of travel, packing, unpacking, and not much time to do everything that you want to do. I recommend coming to London on the extension. This gave us two whole days of exploring the city before the tour started. My biggest complaint of the whole trip was that if you book a double, you should get two beds, Not a bed and a pull-out couch. I spent the first 7 days on a couch. Other than that, had a great time.

Beautiful countryside but...

The tour director was kind and pleasant but disorganized. I have taken trips with another tour company and it was much more organized. Hotels were too far from center city or attractions. I realize the change made due to the Olympics but the hotel was at least 45 minutes by bus or tube from central London. The hotel was poor. We had a dirty room and were not offered a change of rooms until I asked to speak to the tour director to make other hotel arrangements. Suddenly a new room was offered. However this room had visible mold. Accommodations in the other cities were nicer but just as far from town. This left little time to explore the city and/or local cuisine. Some hotels (Kerry and Wales) had no other resturants nearby.

Should have focused on 2 countries not 3. Too much to see and too hard to see it all. Best part is the country sides as the cities leave much to be desired. Could have had better hotels!!! Making us wait 3 hours after flying all night was no way to start a trip!! Also, no porterage at Edinbrough was unacceptable. Not everyone is in great shape. could have had more inclusive meals. not enough to eat.

My first trip overseas was a wonderful experience

As a retired Architect I enjoyed seeing the old cities that I had once read about in my studies. The city structures were extremelly interesting and to see/visit buildings that dated as early as the tenth and eleventh centuries was fascinating.

Had a Great Time

Busy, Busy tour, we,seen so many things and had a great "worry free" time for our frist trip to any of these countries, and we learned so may things, Jonny Casey our tour manager looked out for us like we were his family, at one point one of the trains from London to Edinburgh broke down leaving two train loads of people for one train but Jonny managed to get all 40 of us on the train ahead of all the other people waiting, had a less dedicated person been leading us our whole vacation would have gone up in smoke. Point is, all the folks I dealt with from Go-Ahead tours were top of the line people that truly knew their business and their customers. Whenever we travel the 1st thing we do in a new town is take a bus tour, that gives us our bearings so we have a good idea when we venture off on our own and this trip was no different. I'm very satisfied that G0-Ahead gave us a experience that encourages us to travel back to London, Scotland and Ireland on our own and believe me we are ready to go again. Hotels, meals and transportation were top notch and I would recommend Go-Ahead to anyone and tell them to just G-Ahead and Go nothing to worry about a thing they've got your back. Kenny V.

This was not our best trip ever! It could have been. Go Ahead should have had better communication from the beginning! Telephone personnel was very inexperienced, had no clue how to answer questions regarding itinerary or transportation. Not everyone loves email communications. Secondly there should have been more porters for bags! particularly in Edinborough. Dragging suitcases through a long train station followed by an uphill pull to get out of the station was not acceptable! There should have been a few more meals and the hotel in Dublin was in a very bad neighborhood, (pickpockets and muggers) 5 years ago the trip to France and Italy was handled much better. The trip had its good points but there were several issues that made a difference in the trip being a awesome trip to a ok one.

Wonderful Trip

I had my doubts about an organized tour, but I ended up really enjoying the experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and engaging. We met some very nice people in our group and will hopefully remain in contact with them! This was a great way to travel to an area for the first time...now if we choose to return, I would feel confident to try it on our own....
