Fine Tuning

I realize that this was a new tour for GoAhead this year, but some fine tuning would benefit those who are planning on signing up for this tour. To begin with my husband and I chose this tour because it offered in its brochure an opportunity to see the giant Sequioa trees. When we arrived and inquired about when in the itenerary this would be we were told that it WASN'T going to be! I also know that brochures are printed way in advance and closing that area is justified to save the trees, but this didn't happen overnight. We feel that notification through email of the change should have been told to the fellow travelers just like the extention to San Diego. To say we were disappointed puts it mildly. We also were frustrated over the long bus rides (3-3 1/2 hours) without a break. Yes, there was a bathroom on the bus, but folks need to stretch their legs, even if it is only 15 minutes. Bad backs, stiff knees, hurt tailbones all need a break from riding. The tour into Yosemite also needs some restructing. Where our hotel was and the bus tours of the area need to be reworked. A total of 10 hours is way to much to be riding around even if there is a break for lunch. The ride back to the hotel after dark was nerve racking. Our bus driver was very capable, but the road was scary and of course being dark made it worse. We did see some wonderful sights and have some good memories. However, we may think twice before signing up with GoAhead for a third trip.

Dear Sandy, Thank you for your detailed review. A member of our Quality Control team reached out to you to discuss your experience both via telephone and e-mail. If you would like to discuss your tour, please give us a call back at 1-800-597-0350 or kindly respond to the e-mail. We regret to learn that you had expectations of seeing the giant sequoia trees. Unfortunately, this is not included or listed in the itinerary. We regret that this was unclear, and we are sorry this affected your overall satisfaction of your tour. We will be sure to consider including this in the itinerary going forward. Regarding transfer times, we regret that they were a source of frustration for you. This tour does require a fair amount of driving, as it is a ‘road trip’ style itinerary and covers some considerable distances. In order to reach all the included destinations and sites, our Tour Directors and bus drivers must adhere to a certain pace. That said, we certainly don’t want you to feel cramped or uncomfortable on the bus. We appreciate your feedback on the lengthier transfers, and we will be sure to communicate it to our team internally. Again, we thank you for your detailed feedback, and should you have any questions or wish to discuss your experience further, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope to welcome you on tour again.

Awesome Sights!

I had never been to California before and wanted a trip with the highlights covered. This was it! Although the Yosemite trip's travel time was longer than I expected, the sights were awesome to see! On the Napa & Sonoma Valley wine tasting excursion, we spent too much time traveling. Instead, we should have spent the day at the Fisherman's Wharf having a nice dinner and bottle of wine there. The trip was well planned, hotels were fine. Unfortunately, our tour director Christina did not send us our group's e-mail list leaving us without that contact information. Being Go Ahead's first year for this trip, I'm sure details and excursions will be adjusted making it even more enjoyable.

Hi Kathleen! We’re thrilled that you feel this tour covers the highlights of California. We appreciate your feedback on the itinerary and will be sure to submit your suggestions to our Product Development team for consideration. We regret to learn that your Tour Director did not yet send over your group’s e-mail list, and we will have her supervisor remind her to do that. Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We look forward to welcoming you on your next tour in 2017!

Grand Tour of California, San Francisco to Los Angeles

I had the best time In California, considering that it was Go Ahead first trip to California, they did an amazing job! Our tour Director Christina and our bus driver Daniel made sure we were all being taken care of. Thanks Go Ahead, I'm already thinking on which Go Ahead trip to go next! Antoinette from Florida
